Hello,
I'd like to write to Schapelle a letter and send some gifts. I know that's nothing in her situation, but after reading her book I cannot just sit and do nothing... I'd like to confirm that the address from the book is still valid. Thank you in advance for prompt reply.
Best regards

Hi Kathryn
I heard your interview on the abc on the internet and was disgusted that the guards deliver drugs to the prisoners
Why aren't they doing the time
I would like to see justice done to them, its not right that this is going on, is there a way we can expose them doing this have them photographed have a private investigation and bring it forward to there Government.
I am and have been and am still more than ever a supporter of the Innocent Schapelle Corby I am willing to do anything to help her come home a free woman Even if I have to go on a hunger strike for our Government to do something to get her out but of course I can not do this alone one person can not make a difference but if we could get a large group together if you think it would help I would do it but I would prefer to keep my name private. |

I have just finished Hotel Kerobokan and am still in shock by what I read. I cannot believe the treatment that takes place inside this jail! I, like many others, was totally unaware. Your book has opened my eyes. I want everyone to read it. I feel so sorry for the inmates on death row, particularly Scott Rush. I cannot even begin to imagine what his parents must be feeling. Thankyou for writting one of the most powerful and real books I have ever read. |

Hi, I read this book while recently on holidays in Fiji and it was captivating. I literally have a line up of people waiting to trade up a book for this one.
Very sad that this is all true, but better for people to be more aware of what awaits you in Bali if you do decide to break the law. |

Dear Ms Bonella,
Your book really open our eyes n mind if those really happened. I'm as Indonesian personally say thanx a lot for ur book even I haven't read ur book completely. Ms Bonella, if you have sense of law enforcement without seeing any nation, you should report your knowledge of law abuse in Indonesia especially Bali's prisons to KPK (Corruption eradication committee) or satgas markus (unity of anti-law mafia) in Indonesia, and have them to enforce the law.
Once again, thank you very much...

I have just finished your book - HOTEL KEROBOKAN. I could not put the book down. What a life theses prisoners are subjected too. My heart goes out to each and every one of them, particularly the westerners and mostly, the Australians.
I have a special feeling for Scott Rush, as he really does not deserve the death penalty. He is very lucky to have such a loving and supportive family. Do you plan to write a book about Scott? I also found your book a great reference to educate my children about the dangers of drugs. Also, What about Michelle Leslie?

I've always thought Schapelle innocent, and 'My Story' has sealed my faith in her. I have spent the past 2 weeks in Bali, and on my return yesterday bought Hotel Kerobokan as soon as we got in, which I am currently immersed in and taking time out from it to write this. I hope Schapelle is doing okay although I hear she is emotionally unwell which is very sad. I hope for some fair justice and her release from that hell hole. She is simply an unlucky girl who is vulnerable (from Hotel K I get the idea that surfboard bags etc are used in trafficking) luggage sailed through the wrong hands.
Stay strong. |

Comments: Dear Kathryn, I entered the book shop in search of a book to read after years of not having time to read. I am thrilled I picked your book. I feel for many of the people spending their days in a drug fuelled haze just to survive such a horendous way of life. I will personally never travel to Indonesia, I wouldn\'t want to give the government one cent of my honest hard earned money. I still can't understand how the governement and police departments are getting away with such corupt and dishonest behavour. I feel most for Scott and Emmanuel such a high price to pay for such foolish actions. Thank you for having the guts and tolerence to spend your time in such a hell hole and for opening so many peoples eyes into the corrupt world of Hotel Kerobokan. |

Comments: I've just finished reading this book and it still sits in my mind the things these people have gone through. Although they did commit a crime. This shouldn’t be happening that place is a crime in itself. I still cannot believe that someone who committed murder can be released because of their wealth. This is an amazing book. I couldn’t put it down once I started reading. I've mentioned to everyone who has asked what I was reading how interesting the book was and how you can just not believe these things are happening over there. |

Hello Kathryn
I have just finished Hotel Kerobokan and it is an amazing read thank you.
I am amazed at how people survive at all in that place. The most unbelievable thing is that it seems so totally unfair, I have always thought that Schapelle Corby was innocent and when listening to her case in the past it always seemed to me that the judicial system she was being tried under, gave her no avenue whatsoever to prove herself not guilty. I had the gut feeling that she was innocent because the day she appeared on the news being arrested her smile at the journo's and cameras looked to be saying " it's OK this is a mistake I'll be out this afternoon". To me that’s the intuitive feel I got ,and have been amazed ever since at this stupid rotten system our so called friends in Indonesia allow to run, Its all money no justice.
When will that change, I for one will never step foot in that country rightly or wrongly their Government don't deserve visitors of any description. An accident could get you ruined for life. The guilty "real crims" get out.
Scott Rush well if they execute him the whole world is gone mad. I would love the federal police who let this go ahead suffer forever in their own minds if Scott is executed because to me they would have murdered him.
Great read again Kathryn, all the best. |

Comments: Dear Kathryn,
After reading Hotel Kerobokan and seeing you on the 7pm project this evening I felt so inspired to write something for Scott.
I have sent a copy to the Indonesian ambassador, and I would like to send a copy to you to read.
As stated I do understand that I am only 1 person and I do not carry any weight in this sort of case, however I felt so compelled to try and help this man no matter how small it may seem.
I thank you so much for opening people’s eyes to this sort of situation and can only offer my help where ever it may be needed.
Many many thanks, Kate O'Loughlin |

Comments: Thank you for writing such an honest and fearless book. It has really made me think about human rights on a global scale, and begin to ponder how I can help people who are in such dire circumstances overseas.
I signed whatever petitions I could find to assist a while ago, but I think your book is so groundbreaking and I thank you for really shedding light on Kerobokan's conditions.
I hope it puts some pressure on the government to act! Well done.

What agencies in Australia assist and aid there prisoners in Indonesia? Are care packages able to be sent to these prisoners? Thanks for the book and the insight it has provided to me. The story you have told has been on my mind daily since finishing the book a week ago. |

Kathryn,
Just want to say congratulations on writing another great book. I had previously read your book about shapelle, so when your latest book Hotel Kerobokan was released I couldn’t wait to read it. Well I couldn’t put this book down! It gave such an insight into the life of these prisoners that have to live there. I can't get over the amount of corruption that goes on. The violence gave me chills.
Whilst you understand that people who do wrong must pay the price for their crimes, the way things work in Kerobokan is crazy. Innocent people like Shapelle getting 20 years, or people getting caught with 1 or 2 ecstasy tablets, compared to murders getting 6 years? It seems so crazy.
The conditions that they have to live through are disgusting. My heart truly goes out to so many of the prisoners in there, and also to their families.
I have travelled to Bali once as an 18 year old and remember my friends being offered drugs in night clubs. To think back now it’s so scary to think that if they had have accepted them that they could have ended up behind bars. I would dearly love to go back to Bali one day but after what happened to Shapelle, it scares me too much to think what can happen to an innocent person just going for a holiday.
Congratulations again Kathryn on a marvelous book! I will certainly be recommending it to everyone I know.
Hayley. |

You are a true inspiration!!! I have read both of your books and have never been able to put them down without finishing them on the same day. You have truly made me aware of how lucky we are as Australians in regards to our judicial system. Since finishing your book i have booked flights to Bali so i can put a true image to your words. Congratulations on such absolutely wonderful work. If you have any chance of replying i would greatly appreciate it.

Dear Kathryn, I’m halfway through reading your book and felt compelled to write to you, to find out the name of the poor Brazilian boy in the jail in Nusakambangan who is not named in your book.
Before I started this book I never really thought about what happens to these foreigners who get caught up in bad situations for whatever their reasons are back home.
I found a couple of websites where you can actually help campaign for their lives if they on death row, but I could not see anything about this nameless Brazilian young man.
Did he not want to be helped?
Like I said I’m not even halfway through your book and its really got me thinking about how can I do something small that will help someone who is in a very dark place

Comments: Hi Kathryn
As the administrator of the main supporters’ forum www.freeschapelle.com.au, I must admit that after being closely associated with Schapelle Corby's situation for many years, like most supporters I had no idea really on the conditions in which she lives and what goes on behind the bars of Hotel Kerobokan.
Your book exposes the rawness, the contradictions, drug running, physical abuse and the utter degradation of a person’s physical and emotional wellbeing that imprisonment in Hotel K brings. It is a must read for all supporters who wish to get the full picture.
Congratulations on having the will and time to expose this to the world.

Comments: Dear Ms. Bonella
I ordered the book through Dymocks - paid big bucks to have it shipped to me. Had to pay again when they delivered it. I am however NOT SORRY that I did. I finished it over the weekend. If I didn't know better - I'd say it was a great piece of fiction! Unbelievable. I cannot understand how Schapelle has managed to stay alive in such a hell hole.
I want to personally thank you for having the courage to visit this place and speak to these men. Their stories need to be told. The Australian public needs to read this book. Congratulations. I wish you every success with the book. P.S. I'm not a reader - I've read maybe 5 books in the last five years. However I've read two of yours within the last month. Once again - Thank you.

What an honest & eye opening account of the hypocrisy and corruption of a government institution. It saddens me that in this day & age this type of inhumane punishment & human behaviour is acceptable within the walls of Hotel K. No Westerner should be placed in such an animalistic, disease ridden confinement. Isn't prison for rehabilitating & educating prisoners to once again live in society? Not Hotel K - where prisoners are broken down both physically & emotionally & exposed to the most traumatic of situations. Thank you Kathryn for exposing the corruption and disgrace that Hotel K brings to Indonesia. I can only hope that your book does not fall on deaf ears and that the Indonesian Government seriously reviews it's judicial & correctional systems.

I received the book yesterday, and finished it this morning – thank you, another great insight to the daily happenings of what our Aussies and Westerners have to cope with.
You are an amazing Author and to bring their situation to light can only help! Bree Hammond

I have read your book it s excellent, good warning for some Australians to go there, and be stupid. I feel sorry for the prisoners there, the jail system is full of hypocrisy, for what happens there. I read in your book for, a prisoner of Greek origin, myself I am Greek, and I have done in the past some pastoral visit to Greek national prisoners, here in WA Perth Canning vale Prison. Now I need your help if you can find what is the name of the Greek prisoner, so I can talk to him about God.That will help him, in the hell that he is now!
I would like to thank you with all my heart, about your excellent book which I have read in 4 days, now I pass it to my kids to read it.
Kind Regards
Nick.K |
