
After studying journalism at RMIT University, in Melbourne, Kathryn moved to London and worked for several years as a freelance journalist in television and print.
In 2000 Kathryn moved to Sydney to produce for 60 MInutes, covering stories ranging from celeb profiles; including Reese Witherspoon, Robbie Williams & Kate Hudson, to more serious stories on the Bali bombings, teeth and Schapelle Corby's drug trial in Bali.

At the end of 2005 Kathryn quit 60 Minutes to move to Bali and co-write with Schapelle, her international best selling autobiography titled "MY STORY" (Australia Edition), and NO MORE TOMORROWS (International Edition). Kathryn visited HOTEL K daily for months to interview Schapelle inside the jail, and was so intrigued by what she witnessed that she decided to return to Bali for 18 months to research and write a book about the brutal, violence and sometimes darkly comic world of HOTEL K. Kathryn did hundreds of interviews, with prisoners past and present,the jail security chief, and prison guards.
